Indian Larry Point Covers......

Indian Larry Point Cover

When I was doing the "Chain of Mystery" bike with Larry and his crew, a few years ago, I did up one of these point covers for him to put in with his other products. He thought it was Kool, and we were going to go ahead & do a "Limited Edition, Signed, & Numbered Series"

With his death, I had no desire to even think about point covers, or much else, & with all the people jumping on the Indian Larry bandwagon, with all kinds of crap all over the place..I really got a bad taste in my mouth, and more than a little pissed off the way some were almost like blood-sucking gouls.......so I just put everything out of my head as far as any IL engraved things go......

Larry's urn, & the air cleaner for the "Tribute Bike", were to be the last of anything "Larry" I would do....!!

Well time has passed, and the bandwagon finally broke down, and a few people are wanting me to go ahead with the series..........at least for them.

So, Here's the deal......

· I will be making a "VERY" Limited number of these point covers..

· They will be Signed, Numbered, and Dated with the original purchasers Name on the back….

· No two will be exactly alike, ALL will be photographed & filed for future identification

· There will be both 2 hole (Shovel & Sportster), & 5 hole (whater they fit) point covers…Other makes & models may (or may NOT) be made to order………

· Price...$380.00 ea. CASH or US Postal Money Order "ONLY"

· (No shipping charges... (I hate assholes that make ya pay extra for s&h)

Someone suggested doin' matching derby covers to match, but I don't see that happening, at least not in the near future, if ever….

New MAY Engraving Class....????

Here's an Update on what's happening in my motorcycle engraving class....

The regular class that was scheduled at the Ray Covers School over in Festus MO in May, had to be cancelled for reasons beyond anyones control.........
Ray asked me if I wanted to see about having a MC class in that time slot

My next scheduled class wasn’t till August, so Hell Yeah….I really love teachin’ people anything I can…..and my students have really blown me away, with what they are doing after only a week of instruction…
(See the next issue of Cycle Source for a Kool article)

So…………
I will have a class.

May 4th thru May 8th

Just give me a holler if you’re interested, and we’ll fit ya in…….
Also, Limited private instruction will be available to fit with some peoples busy schedules….

MAY Engraving CLASS........??

The first week in May could become open for a MC Engraving Class.
Won't know for sure till the end of this month, and it will be short notice, but if we can get at least three people to sign up, it could happen.

The regular engraving class at Ray Cover School might have to be re-scheduled till a later date, so that week may be open for our class..

I'll know by the 1st of April......

Well Hell.........!!

New Day.....New Deal....!!
Things seem to change around here without notice...........

Engraving class will still be 1st week in Feb,,,,,,,,2nd thru 6th
Afterwhich,we will be leaving Festus MO heading to Little Rock Sat or Sun morning (7th or 8th)
Go see David Snow...
Visit the Clinton Library ..
Hook up with the Crew at Rodney's Cycle house........
On Monday Feb 9th, back to library for the tear down of the Art of the Choppers exhibit....
Then home...................

Along with me, cooped up together for the week, will be my 17 yr old daughter, and I'm hoping she don't throw me out of the car, or hit me with a bat while I sleep :)
Maybe I should sleep with an eye open.....eh ? 17 yr olds can be seriously Dangerous...!! hahahaha

or so the plan goes at this very moment in time......
No doubt subject to change....without any notice to me........ :)

I think there's one spot still open in the Feb Class, and the next one won't be till August....(if i even continue to have any classes)

Class will have a good article, of several pages, & bunch of pics, in upcoming issue of Cycle Source Magazine .....
If you haven't seen this mag......raise hell with your local shop to carry it, or better yet....Subscribe !!

Quick Update......

I'll be adding a couple pieces to my display at the Clinton library when we go over there.
Will be putting a Shovel cam cover I engraved for a Good Friend, Tony Mohr up in Moskow ID, and a Goodson Magneto cap of Fab Kevins....
Even though the exhibit ends next month......
these pieces are are pretty Kool and should be seen ...

Might even stick in a couple of these Kool little Brass Padlocks i'm doing.......

Clinton Library Trip....

Plannin a trip down to Little Rock in the next couple weeks...
Will make the arrangements Monday with their staff for the VIP tour.... (whatever a VIP izz) :)
Takin my daughter Jzena, and possibly, RA & BKC Paul.

Gonna run down David Snow at the Parlor, & get a little ink while we're there...
and try to make it over to Rodneys Cycle Shack..They're Really a GREAT Crew .... :)

Well I'm gonna make an attempt to put a little something NEW on here every day this month....

Focusing on getting some peoples work out that have sat here on the bench for toooo long......(you know who ya are)

What a gas....
The Library staff are the "BEST" and treated us like we were part of their family.
Thanks Chris, Terry, and all the rest of your dynomite crew....we'll be back next month for round two, :) :)
Hangin out with Ron & Ruth Finch, & Donna, the lovely lady the now owns "Odins Axle".......who is also gonna be one of my engraving students......
Ridin the trolly all around town with Kendall & his new family... definatly KOOL....
Out to Rodneys Cycle House for a huge feed for us put on by him and the lovely Donna.......

We're definatly goin back over there.....The food & the company were all the greatest............

Just a little information to update those that are interested...

I've been invited to exibit some of my stuff in this event, and will be doing some demos of engraving in a Booth they have set up for me, on Sat the 20th.
We will also be there to answer questions, and signup those interested in the engraving classes.......
As anyone who knows anything at all about me......
I DON'T do shows, or Rallys or Events anymore......(haven't for several years)
BUT.......This is something ya just don't say "no" to, and I feel honored to be a part of it....

Too many Programs....Not enough computer....!!

We just put in some new programs, and this old box ain't handling things too good...........

Put in Rossetta Stone for my daughters Spanish & Japanese,,,
Dreamweaver CS3....for my new website..
and Photoshop CS3.......

Now this box is bogged down almost to a stop....if it runs any slower..the damn thing will be goin backwards. :)

But......I''ll put in a couple sticks of as much memory as this thing will take....(or dynomite)..and see if it can pass the famous "CJ Dart Test"..... :)

Still trying to put up pics of the class.....cause those guys did some really neat work, and I really want to show their stuff off.........

Will be workin on this thing all weekend, or till it goes out in the cornfield....... :)

First engraving class went GREAT....!!
Had four students that had no experience, and by the end of the week, they each engraved point covers that blew me away.... :)

I'll put up some pics as soon as I can get them downloaded....

Really looking forward to the October class, and it looks like we'll be doin a few classes next year too (2009)........in fact, we're working on taking this motorcycle engraving to the next level......

I Love the classroom at the Cover School...really set up for producing some personal & individualized instruction......... Having a limit of only five students is the only way to go as far as teaching & learning.....
Got to spend a lot of time with each student, .........guess that's why the class was such a success..:)

Not Much Happening ...........

around here.

Just tryin to finish up a few things, and getting ready for the class .....

Putting this thing together is a lot more work & time consuming than I ever thought...
Doin what I do, and trying to teach someone else is two different things......
puttin it all in some kind of order can really tax what's left of my brain........
But I'm confident I can have some really good engravers come out of this thing..........and am really pumped up about it all............. :)
Teachin this class at Ray covers School is what is really making this thing happen, and no doubt a sucess....
I attemped to teach a couple guys here at the house....but that was a disaster.............. :) :)

We'll be showing the progress of the class as it goes through the week.........
and at the end will show what these guys have learned and the quality of their efforts..

At the very least.......They will be able to do top notch engraving on their own bike & parts that they can be proud of............
Where they go from there is however fwr they want to take it\
They will have the knowledge ......it will just be a matter of desire.............just like anything else

Note: Got Arthur back from the mortuary.....
Now he's sittin on top of the TV.....soon to be in a kool new urn, and placed on the top shelf with his partner "Littledog'.......

Well Hell.........!!

One of my very best friends died peacefully in his sleep around 7:00 this morning.............

"Arthur Hunnicut,"
aka "Bozo Wingnut"
finally gave it up after bein my GOOD PAL, & Road Companion, for over 14 years.

The 130 pound long-legged, & long nosed Rott, was havin problems in his hips, and other things that come with gettin' older, like all Rotts ge, & people get..............
and his mobility was gettin where he couldn't run the mailman down anymore........
His pal "Littledog" had gone a few years ago.......
Dad wasn't runnin down the road like he used to...
So I guess he figgered it was his time....

He wasn't doin all that great last night & we knew it was gettin close.........
In fact I was resigned to givin him his last ride in the wagon today, & havin him put down.......
never had to put down any of my dogs, and sure wasn't lookin forward to doin' it with Arthur.....

Sure am glad it didn't happen that way..
I sacked out on the living room floor with him last night, and hopefully made his last few hours a little more comfortable, & easier for him to let go by pettin & scratchin his ears most of the night......
Felt a couple lite kicks on my legs, and a few minutes later I just had a feelin,,,,,I rolled over and saw his big chest wasn't movin..........so............

He was sleeping on a heavy new moving blanket, so we'll let him lay right here in the living room till Robin get s home from work, then we'll take him over to a local mortuary where he will be cremated and put on the shelf with "Littledog".
Just don't want either one of them buried in Kentucky........They were both So Cal dogs.......

One of these days when I'm on the road.......We'll spread their ashes where the time & place "feels' right..........
Till then.......

R.I.P Big Dog...Dad will catch up sometime in the future, after all things are finished, that still need taken care of......... :)

I don't bother to turn on this computer any more than I have to.....and that's just to check e-mail & look in on a small handful of other people forums & blogs...
Mostly engravin forums, and Nelson & Cochises message boards.....Jordan, Chopper Dave, & Church of Choppers blogs...Thas about it....

The engraving class is coming together GUUD..... :)
& lookin forward to producing some dynomite motorcycle engravers for the near future.......
It's an avenue yet untapped, cause most of the so-called engraving out there is machine done, or just "unimpresive", to say the least

I'll be trying to post pics as the class goes..
I think it would be Kool for folks to look in & watch as we rip up some metal during the week... :)

Lookin forward to meeting one of the absolute "TOP" engravers around, next Sept, at the Clinton Presidential Library....
A Guy named Tay Terrera.....Killer work, and if ya have never seen his stuff.........ya gotta check him out.............

She's goin up to St Louis for some concert (Warped Tour ??)....and wonders why I'm nervous.

A lot more work than I figured, but will be well worth it, when I can produce some "QUALITY" engravers, doin' top notch work.....

Seems like there's people that expect me to sit here & type out my whole life story, and droll it out in segments on a daily basis......while posting all the old pics I got stuffed in old boxes.................

One of the things about livin' this long, is ya look around and a lot of the good people that make your life what it is...........are die'n off.....
